Mom why
don't we live with daddy?" he asked me again.
She has been asking me since last Monday. It was Parent-Teacher meet at school.
A fine, polite gentleman he is when she
meets him, the dad every little girl will be proud of. He brings her gifts and
chocolates and colourful cakes almost every weekend now. She calls up her
friends to tell them how much fun she has with her daddy. He owns her heart
like he used to own mine.
And now when I look at him I don't see the man I fell in love with. I don't see
the man who promised to stand by me in sickness and in health. I don't
see the man who held my hand and stood against the world. But I see the son who
was blindfolded by family duties. I see the man who wasn't man enough to see
the right from wrong. I see the drunkard husband who hits his wife for she
wants a LIFE for their child. I see the father who isn't worth of being one. I
see a murderer who wanted to kill his daughter because there's no place for a
girl in this man's world.
"Because we are not meant to be.."
